Today, I was sitting on the couch checking Facebook when Jeremy walked through the front door after taking Chloe out and checking the mail. In his hand, among other things, was a large manilla envelope. And what was in that envelope? Our adoption information packet!!
So, here's the deal...tomorrow I will call the tri-county foster care/adoptive parent trainer and register Jeremy and I for the orientation and training classes. The classes start July 12 and will run every Tuesday night until Thursday, September 8. I hate that I have to wait more than a month to even get the classes started, and that the classes are only once a week. Each class is 3 hours, so really only having one class a week is pretty reasonable, but when you are as impatient as I am, you hope for at least 3 classes a week, lol. Oh well, I'll take what I can get!
I am sooooo excited and sooo ready to have everything underway. I feel like I have waited for this moment for a VERY long time, and now that it's here, it's almost surreal. I like it. I like being part of something so big, so important, so life-changing. We're well aware that this road isn't going to be easy, but we're ready and so willing to do this. Bring it on!
